About the estate
The Piewald estate is located in Spitz in the Wachau region and is operated as a multi-generational family business. The winemaker's path led through various stations back to the parental farm, receiving full attention since the year 2005. The steep and barren vineyards are situated in the Spitzer Graben on slate soils featuring dry stone walls and bare rock. Cultivation is carried out in harmony with nature to allow the grapes a long vegetation period and an optimal balance. The wines are distributed via specialized partners domestically and internationally.
The estate sells to distributors and retail. Export markets include Czechia, Italy and Switzerland.
