About the estate

The Petzl - Tschida estate cultivates its vineyards in the UNESCO World Heritage region of the Neusiedl See-Seewinkel National Park around Illmitz. The mild Pannonian climate with warm days, cool nights, and high humidity, combined with diverse soils such as sand, gravel, saline, and chernozem soils, provides ideal conditions for viticulture. In addition to careful hand-harvesting, the winery relies on precise fermentation control and reductive winemaking. While the red wines mature in wooden barrels, the predicate wines rest in stainless steel tanks. This approach is complemented by certifications such as Nachhaltig Austria and the IFS.

The estate sells to distributors and retail. Export markets include Germany, Switzerland, France and Italy.
