About the estate

The Petra winery is located in Suvereto on the Tuscan coast and belongs to the Moretti family, whose founder Vittorio Moretti launched the project in 1997 together with his daughter Francesca. The 300-hectare estate comprises woods, olive groves, and around 100 hectares of vineyards distributed across four distinct zones with soils ranging from calcareous clay to alluvial pebbles. The vineyards are cultivated with international grape varieties such as Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot, alongside Mediterranean varieties. The architecturally striking winery was designed by architect Mario Botta and shapes the estate's identity. Influenced by a Mediterranean and breezy climate, the estate is dedicated to producing wines under the Toscana IGT denomination.
