About the estate

The Pago de Carraovejas, S.L.U. estate is located in Peñafiel within the Castilla y León region and operates in the Ribera del Duero DO denomination. The origins of the project date back more than three decades when José María Ruiz sought to create a great wine in this high-potential area. In 2007, the second generation joined the project with Pedro Ruiz, bringing a fresh business perspective focused on sustainability and innovation. The vineyards are situated at an average altitude of 850 meters on slopes along the Duero River, featuring varying degrees of incline. The estate cultivates Tinto Fino, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot utilizing tailored viticultural systems adapted to the local topography.
