About the estate

The Özelt estate cultivates sustainably managed vineyards in the municipalities of Spitz and Weißenkirchen in the Wachau region. The history of the historic main building dates back to 1668, with the winery being run by the family of Thomas Özelt and Karin Reischer-Özelt since 2010. On barren primary rock soils as well as loamy and sandy sites, the estate cultivates grape varieties such as Grüner Veltliner, Riesling, Chardonnay, Frühroter Veltliner, Müller-Thurgau, and Zweigelt. In addition to viticulture, the family runs a wine tavern and guest rooms in the historic town center of Spitz.
