About the estate

The Macchie Santa Maria Cantine winery is based in Montemiletto in the heart of Irpinia, Italy, and was established in 2010 drawing upon a multi-generational family tradition. The vineyards are situated on steep hillsides with volcanic and fertile soils around the Calore river valley as well as in the neighboring municipalities of Santa Paolina and Tufo. Traditional grape varieties such as Aglianico, Fiano di Avellino, and Greco are cultivated on these sites to produce distinctive regional wines. The estate combines traditional winemaking methods with modern processing and maturation techniques to preserve the natural quality of the grapes.
