About the estate

The Les Vignobles Mercier estate is located in Vix in the southern Vendée region of the Loire Valley and looks back on a long history. Frantz Mercier represents the fourth generation managing the property, whose development is closely linked to a globally recognized family expertise in grapevine nurseries. The vineyards are planted on a former clay-limestone island rich in flint, benefiting from a warm, temperate oceanic climate and constant western winds. The cultivated grape varieties include conventional ones such as Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, Gamay, Négrette, Chenin, Sauvignon, Chardonnay, and Gewurztraminer, alongside the fungus-resistant variety Nathy-Sauvignac. Farming is conducted sustainably and respectfully following High Environmental Value standards, with organic methods applied to specific cuvées.
