The Höhere Bundeslehranstalt für Wein- and Obstbau in Klosterneuburg looks back on a 160-year history and is considered the oldest viticulture and fruit growing school in the world. Founded in 1860, the institution imparts general education as well as specialized training at the highest level in the fields of viticulture and fruit growing. In addition to education, the establishment is intensively dedicated to research in order to prepare viticulture for the future using innovative methods and comprehensive know-how. The grape variety spectrum includes Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, and Neuburger, among others. Furthermore, the institute offers various analyses in the wine and fruit sector through its testing laboratory.
