About the estate
The Högl GesbR Josef und Georg estate located in Spitz in the Wachau region is run as a family business with three generations living and working together. What began as mixed agriculture has evolved into a wine estate encompassing nine hectares of steep terraces directly above the winery. Today, the focus lies on Riesling and Grüner Veltliner cultivated in the cool Spitzer Graben. Vinification is carried out with precision, relying mostly on stainless steel tanks alongside large wooden casks for selected styles. The wines released under the Wachau DAC denomination reflect the cool topography and mica schist soils of the area.
The estate sells to distributors and horeca. Export markets include Czechia and Germany.
