About the estate

The Hofer winery is a family business that has existed for several generations in South Styria. Young winemaker Harald Hofer was educated at the Silberberg wine school and shapes the character of the wines with his expertise. The vineyards are located in the Sausal wine-growing region on primary rock and slate weathered soils with a view of the Theresienhügel. The special climatic conditions and soils give the quality wines their mineral-driven profile. Classic wines are vinified in steel tanks, while a portion of the single-vineyard wines matures in barrique barrels on the fine lees.

The eno directory lists 16 wines, mostly from Pinot Blanc and Gelber Muskateller. The estate sells to retail.
