About the estate

The traditional Heger winery is a family business located in Wilhelmsdorf near Poysdorf in the northern Weinviertel region, existing for over 300 years. Heinz and Waltraud Heger have managed the estate since the 1980s, expanding it with a distillery, while their son Lukas is responsible for vinification. The estate comprises 18 hectares of vineyards with notable sites such as Hofgärten, Saubrunn, Hundsberg, Hermann Schachern, and Steinberg. These predominantly clay, loess, and limestone soils nurture indigenous grape varieties like Grüner Veltliner and Welschriesling. The winery produces wines under the Weinviertel DAC denomination as well as reserves and high-quality distillates.
