About the estate
The Hallenbach estate cultivates vineyards in the sites of Zell, including steep slopes with a gradient of nearly 70 percent on the slate-infused slopes of the Moselle. The heat-retaining and fertile primary slate soil allows only low yields while the vines root deeply into the rock crevices. Across a vineyard area of 4.5 hectares, Riesling forms almost exclusively the foundation for the estate's wines. A total of 1.5 hectares of the vineyard area are located in these geographically favored steep slopes.
The eno directory lists 5 wines, mostly from Riesling and Dornfelder.
