About the estate
The Giovanna Madonia winery in Bertinoro traces back to a property acquired by grandfather Pietro before Giovanna Madonia restructured and expanded the estate in 1992. Today, she farms a vineyard area of approximately 14 hectares together with her daughters, most notably Miranda. The artisanal production yields around 60,000 bottles annually, with a primary focus on the native grape varieties Romagna Sangiovese and Romagna Albana. Vinification involves spontaneous fermentations and long macerations, followed by aging in the historic underground cellar. The estate is a member of the Italian Federation of Independent Winemakers and handles commercialization independently.
The eno directory lists 8 wines, mostly from Sangiovese and Albana.
