About the estate

The Freisingerhof estate is run as a family business by the Thomas Leitner family in Weißenkirchen in the Wachau. The winery cultivates around seven hectares of vineyards, which are distributed across 28 plots in steep slopes and terraced sites such as Achleiten, Steinriegel, and Buschenberg. The main grape variety is Grüner Veltliner, followed by Riesling as well as red wine varieties such as Saint Laurent and Blauer Zweigelt. The portfolio is rounded out by varieties including Chardonnay, Yellow Muscat, Muskat Ottonell, Neuburger, and Ruländer. As a member of Vinea Wachau Nobilis Districtus, the estate produces its wines in the traditional Wachau quality categories Steinfeder, Federspiel, and Smaragd.
