The Tuscan estate Fattoria di Petroio looks back on a long history that began in the twelfth century in the year 1080. For nearly 700 years, the property was owned by the Church under the Diocese of Fiesole, as evidenced by historical symbols on the main villa to this day. The historic residence is nestled in the hills around Florence and is surrounded by a restored sixteenth-century hamlet as well as a vast natural landscape of vineyards, olive groves, and forests. Today, the estate is protected by the superintendency of fine arts and environmental preservation.
