About the estate
The Englmaier estate in Lower Austria's Retz region is operated by the family across multiple generations. The foundation was laid by Anton Englmaier in 1875 with approximately two hectares of vineyards, which have since been expanded. Today, the winery is run by Manfred and Markus Englmaier, with support from Monika and Michaela Englmaier. Viticulture is practiced with respect for nature to ensure healthy grapes. In the cellar, the wines undergo a slow, temperature-controlled fermentation and are aged in stainless steel tanks to develop their varietal bouquets.
The eno directory lists 10 wines, mostly from Zweigelt and Grüner Veltliner. The estate sells to retail.
