About the estate

The El Otero, S.C. winery looks back on more than a century of family history as a traditional wine producer rooted in the Valles de Benavente since 1906. Across a vineyard area of 65 hectares, the estate cultivates the grape varieties Prieto Picudo, Tempranillo, Mencía, and Verdejo with respect for the environment. These grapes are used to craft distinctive white, red, and rosé wines, with a particular emphasis on the indigenous Prieto Picudo variety. The portfolio ranges from young wines to crianzas and reservas. Today, the estate exports its products to more than a dozen countries worldwide.

The eno directory lists 12 wines, mostly from Prieto Picudo and Mencía. Export markets include Germany, Netherlands, Belgium and Switzerland.
