About the estate

The Domeniile Vatra Roșia estate is located in the heart of Transylvania in Fizeșu Gherlii on a hill plateau at an altitude of over 500 meters. The first 2.5 hectares were planted in 1990 by Barabas Stefan, and the vineyard was expanded by another 10 hectares in 2008 under a conversion program. Today, the winery cultivates a total area of 12.53 hectares on sandy soils. The particular microclimate, featuring warm days and cool nights, shapes the wines, which are characterized by an intense, aromatic, and fruity bouquet.
