About the estate
The Swiss winery Domaines des Virets was acquired in 1995 by Pierre-Alain Mathier in the sun-drenched central Valais. In the terraced hills of the municipality of Saint-Léonard and other sites in the region, grapes thrive on soils composed of gypsum, slate, quartz, and limestone. Cellar master Iwan Imboden vinifies a portfolio that includes Fendant, Pinot Noir, Pinot Noir Réserve, Heida, and Oeil de Perdrix. Today, the estate is one of the largest wine producers in Valais.
