About the estate

The Domaine des Pothiers estate is located in Villemontais on the southern slopes of the Côte Roannaise appellation in the Loire region. The historic estate currently farms 22 hectares of vineyards on granitic soils situated between 400 and 600 meters of altitude. The history of the property spans centuries and has been closely linked to the Pothier and Paire families for generations. Following continuous replanting and modernization starting in 2005, the estate transitioned to organic and biodynamic farming methods. Harvesting is done manually with selection in the vines, followed by vinification in tanks as well as wooden and concrete vats depending on the cuvée.
