About the estate
The Domaine de la Girardrie estate was founded in 1966 by Denis and Claudette with five hectares of vines and now covers 47 hectares. The winery is located in Le Puy-Notre-Dame within the Loire Valley, which is the largest wine-producing municipality in Saumur. The main grape varieties cultivated on clay-limestone soils are Cabernet Franc and Chenin. Vineyard management follows sustainable farming practices utilizing cover cropping and soil cultivation. Vinification and aging of the wines take place with temperature control in stainless steel vats or in barrels for certain cuvées.
