About the estate

The Chateau Kumsiashvili winery in Tbilisi continues the legacy of winemaker Michael Kumsiashvili and is managed today in the third generation by his grandson Michael. The wines are crafted in accordance with traditional methods in large underground clay vessels called Qvevri, where they undergo fermentation and aging with skin-contact. The portfolio includes wines from the protected designations of origin Kindzmarauli and Tsinandali in the Kakheti region of Georgia. The estate draws upon the experience of three winemaking generations, combining the millennia-old Georgian wine culture with modern standards. The wines of the estate have received recognition at international competitions.
