About the estate
The Château Kirwan estate looks back on a history of more than two centuries, initiated in the eighteenth century by the Irish-born Mark Kirwan. In 1855, the property was classified as Premier des 3èmes Grands Crus Classés du Médoc and came into the possession of the Schÿler family in 1926. Covering 37 hectares of vineyards, the estate is situated on the privileged slopes of the Margaux appellation above a soil mosaic of gravel and clay. Viticulture is conducted according to eco-responsible principles with the exclusion of insecticides and herbicides alongside a preference for organic practices. A permanent team and additional workers during harvest ensure meticulous manual labor in the vineyards.
The eno directory lists 3 wines, mostly from Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.
