Château Filhot was founded in 1709 by Romain de Filhot in the heart of the Sauternes region and is managed today as a family estate by Gabriel de Vaucelles. The winery spans 60 hectares of vineyards located on the southern slope of the Sauternes hill and holds the classification of Second Cru Classé from the 1855 official ranking. Production focuses on traditional sweet wines within the AOC Sauternes denomination. The estate implements sustainable farming practices certified under the Haute Valeur Environnementale standard alongside manual harvesting.
