About the estate
The Château Falfas was built in 1612 on the slopes of the municipality of Bayon and looks back on a long history dating back to the 14th century and former owners such as the Seigneurs of Lansac and Gaillard of Falfas. The twenty hectares of vineyards extend across the southern slopes of the right bank of the Gironde on deep clay-limestone soils with a foundation of asteriated limestone. The vineyards are planted with the grape varieties Merlot, Cabernet, and Malbec. The cultivation methods include limited yields, manual harvesting, strict grape selection, long vinifications, and maturation in French oak barrels. The wines of the renowned estate have been exported for centuries.
