About the estate

The Château de la Calonnière estate, located in Terranjou in the Val de Loire, cultivates 19.31 hectares of vineyards on schist and sandstone soils. The business has been managed by the Teurquetil family since 1967 and produces wines under an organic agriculture transition started in 2021 with EU certification. The 19.31 hectares comprise 6.7 hectares of Chenin, 6.4 hectares of Cabernet Franc, 2.11 hectares of Cabernet Sauvignon, 2 hectares of Grolleau noir and gris, and 1.10 hectares of Chardonnay. The estate avoids chemical weed control, applies pheromones, and harvests a large part of the grapes by hand. The portfolio includes seven wines covering denominations such as AOC Anjou, AOC Anjou Blanc, AOC Anjou Rouge, AOC Anjou Villages, AOC Cabernet d’Anjou, AOC Coteaux du Layon, and AOC Crémant de Loire. Distribution is handled via direct sales at the estate.

The eno directory lists 7 wines, mostly from Chenin Blanc and Cabernet Franc.
