About the estate
The Château Carmenère estate is a family-run winery located in the Médoc region north of Bordeaux, founded by the Richard Barraud family. The vineyards are situated near the Atlantic Ocean and are cultivated according to the principles of sustainable farming, known as culture raisonnée. The grape varieties grown in the vineyards include Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot, and the rare, namesake Carménère. Winemaking takes place on the property, utilizing an authentic cellar for the aging and blending of the wines.
