About the estate

The Champagne MG (Marteaux Guillaume) estate is located in Bonneil, south of the Aisne and at the western end of the Champagne region in the Marne Valley. The fifth in a line of winemakers, Guillaume Marteaux, took over the family business in 2003 and expanded the estate to eight hectares. The vineyards thrive in a natural amphitheater with an ideal south-southeast exposure on clay-silt, clay-limestone, marl and clay soils, crossed by a vein of sand. The primary grape variety planted is Pinot Meunier, which is cultivated alongside Pinot Noir and Chardonnay today. Vinification includes the use of oak barrels, and the harvest is conducted exclusively by hand.
