About the estate
Founded in 1920, the Cataldi Madonna estate is located in Ofena in the Abruzzo region and spans 30 hectares of vineyards at an altitude of 320 to 440 meters. The vineyards lie beneath the Calderone glacier, the only one in the Apennines, in an area known for its unique geographical conditions often referred to as the oven of Abruzzo. Since 2016, the grapes have been sourced from certified organic farming. All wines are vinified as single-varietals in the absence of oxygen. The harvest comes from established plots following a rigorous double selection of both the vineyards and the best grapes.
The eno directory lists 13 wines, mostly from Montepulciano and Pecorino.
