About the estate
The land on which the Castello dei Rampolla estate stands has belonged to the family since 1739. The history of the winery began in the 1960s with the vision of founder Alceo di Napoli Rampolla, leading to the first bottle releases with the 1975 vintage. Alongside oenologist Giacomo Tachis, the estate became the first in the area to plant Cabernet Sauvignon and blend it with Sangiovese. Today, vineyard cultivation is strictly managed according to the practices of biodynamic agriculture.
