About the estate
The Calonga estate was founded in 1977 by Maurizio Baravelli, whose family has been involved in winemaking for more than six generations. Today, Maurizio runs the winery as a family-run business together with his sons Lorenzo, Matteo, and Francesco. The core of their work focuses on promoting local winemaking traditions and indigenous grape varieties such as Sangiovese, Albana, and Bombino Bianco. In doing so, the winery also preserves the oldest clones found in vineyards that are over half a century old. Vineyard management follows natural rhythms in harmony with nature to produce wines that express the character of Romagna.
The eno directory lists 15 wines, mostly from Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon.
