About the estate
The Bodegas Monje estate is situated on the island of Tenerife in El Sauzal and looks back on a family tradition dating back to 1750. In the vineyards located in La Hollera, traditional grape varieties such as Listán Negro, Listán Blanco, Negramoll, Tintilla, Vijariego negra, and Marmajuelo thrive on volcanic soils. Cultivation takes place in steep locations featuring old vines and a special microclimate influenced by the nearby ocean. During vinification, the winery combines historical methods, including traditional oak barrels, with modern cellar technology. The produced wines are protected by the Tacoronte – Acentejo designation of origin and reflect the character of their origin.
