About the estate
The family-run Bodegas Laukote winery was founded in 2004 by the Norberto Miguel and Josune Biurrarena family in Laguardia at the foot of the Sierra de Toloño – Cantabria in the south of Álava. The estate farms a vineyard area of 8.5 hectares, of which seven hectares are owned and consist predominantly of old vines. The grape variety portfolio comprises 90 percent Tempranillo and 10 percent Viura, processed through a traditional working method with rigorous selection. The wines belong to the Rioja DOCa denomination and are produced in limited quantities. Distribution reaches beyond the domestic market into international regions.
