About the estate
The Bodega la Asuncion de Nuestra Señora Sociedad Cooperativa was founded in 1963 by 300 winegrowers in Gumiel de Izán, located in the heart of the Ribera del Duero region. Today, the cooperative cultivates 220 hectares of vineyards planted with Tinta del País and Blanca Albillo grapes. The vines have an average age of 80 years, are trained as bush vines, and the harvest is carried out entirely by hand. Guided by winemaker Emmanuel Ivars, the estate produces structured red wines that are marketed under the Morozán brand.
The eno directory lists 3 wines, mostly from Tempranillo. The estate sells to distributors.
