Bodega Cooperativa Algueña

About the estate

The Bodega Cooperativa Algueña was founded in 1970 and brings together around 300 members with a vineyard area of approximately 1,600 hectares distributed across the provinces of Alicante and Murcia. Eighty percent of the vineyards are planted with the Monastrell grape variety, alongside other varieties such as Tintorera, Tempranillo, Syrah, Merlot, Bobal, Garnacha tinta, Meseguera, Airén, Macabeo, and Verdil. From this, the winery produces an average of about 3.5 million kilograms of grapes. The portfolio includes structured crianza red wines, fresh young red, rosé, and white wines, sweet wines, and the historic Fondillón. This establishes the cooperative as one of the major wine producers within the D.O.P. Alicante.
