The Bodega 202 estate was founded in 2014 by Francis and Kathleen Rooney in the heart of Rioja Alavesa. Following a journey along the Camino de Santiago through the Ebro Valley, the family decided to establish the winery in the region. The small boutique producer specializes in crafting limited releases from old, high-altitude vineyards while prioritizing quality over quantity. The estate focuses on combining traditional and modern elements to produce distinct single-plot wines. Today, the winery is managed by Michael Rooney alongside winemaker and general manager Luis Güemes.
