About the estate

The Bernthaler organic winery in Gols near Lake Neusiedl is managed by Helmut and Herbert Bernthaler and has been certified organic according to Bio Austria guidelines since 2007. The estate primarily cultivates old vine parcels with a minimum age exceeding 45 years, dating back as far as the 1930s. These deep roots make the un irrigated vineyards independent of precipitation and resistant to rising temperatures. The portfolio features characteristic wines such as the Chardonnay matured in chestnut casks and the Grüner Veltliner from the Altenberg vineyard. A central aspect of their operation is climate protection through resource-saving measures alongside a consistent return and reuse system for bottles and cartons.
