About the estate
The Barbaterre estate is located in the hilly area between Parma and Reggio Emilia in Emilia-Romagna and is run by Franco and his wife Maria Grazia. On nearly ten hectares of vineyards featuring clayey and calcareous soils, the winery cultivates traditional varieties such as Lambrusco Grasparossa, Salamino, Malbo Gentile, and Marzemino, alongside Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Sauvignon Blanc. The estate operates according to organic farming practices, holds ICEA certification, and is a member of FIVI. With an annual production exceeding 60,000 bottles, the winery focuses on crafting distinctive regional wines.
