About the estate
The family-owned estate Barão & Borge Lda has its origins in a vineyard planted in the southern Alentejo in 1983 and formally established as a company in 2015. Raised in Switzerland, the owners manage the vineyard organically, focusing on maintaining biodiversity through healthy soils and diverse cover crops. The harvest and grape selection are carried out manually by hand to ensure high raw material quality for vinification. During production, the winery specializes in authentic, fruity, and full-bodied wines made from autochthonous grape varieties such as Alicante Bouschet, Alfrocheiro, Castelão, Tinta Barroca, Aragonez, and Roupeiro.
