About the estate

The Bamberger sparkling wine estate in Meddersheim is run by Heiko and Ute Bamberger alongside the next generation represented by Ina Bamberger. Over forty years ago, the estate made a conscious decision to focus consistently on producing exceptional sparkling wines from the terroir of the upper Nahe. The cool climate with late harvest times as well as soils shaped by quartzite, slate, and volcanic influences define the character of the wines. Cultivating grape varieties such as Riesling, Pinot Noir, and Chardonnay, the winery works with classic terroir grapes. In the cellar, every step from hand-harvesting to traditional bottle fermentation is carried out entirely in-house.
