About the estate

The Atzberg estate, located in Spitz in the Wachau region, looks back on a history of the vineyard of the same name dating back to a document from 1382, though viticulture there had been abandoned in the 1950s. In 2008, the extremely steep site with its iron-containing soils and sparse topsoil was recultivated through extensive manual labor. The winery's portfolio focuses on wines from the Grüner Veltliner grape variety in the style of Wachau DAC. Since the summer of 2021, Paul Kiefer has managed the estate as a member of the management team.
