Dal latino "picatum", poichè a maturazione sull'acino si formano piccole macchie color ruggine (Pica). Di questo vitigno, allevato esclusivamente in Liguria, nasce questo vino di colore paglierino, dai profumi freschi e fruttati e dotato di buona struttura.
