About the estate
The 39 Qvevri winery is located in the village of Bitsmendi within the historic Georgian wine region of Kartli. The estate is dedicated to producing traditional wine from local grape varieties, aged using the ancient method of Qvevri maturation. The vineyards are planted with four Georgian grape varieties: Shavkapito, Goruli Mtsvane, Kisi, and Khikhvi. The surrounding area is deeply rooted in Georgian winemaking history and associated with notable historical figures of the region. Winemaking operations are led by David Chichua, a biochemistry graduate with extensive practical and academic experience in the field.
