Über den Betrieb
Das Weingut Julia Kemper Wines, S.A. bewirtschaftet in Mangualde in der Region Dão zwanzig Hektar Rebfläche auf granitischen Böden. Die Geschichte der Familie Melo im Weinbau reicht über vier Jahrhunderte zurück, wobei der Neubeginn unter dem heutigen Namen im Jahr 2003 stattfand. Die Weinberge der Quinta do Cruzeiro werden nach biologischen und biodynamischen Prinzipien ohne synthetische Chemikalien kultiviert. Zum Sortiment gehören traditionelle Rebsorten des Dão, aus denen biologische Weißweine, Roséweine, Rotweine und Schaumweine erzeugt werden. Die Vinifikation erfolgt rein biologisch, vegan und handwerklich, um die Reinheit und den Charakter des Berg- und Wald-Terroirs zum Ausdruck zu bringen.
Im eno-Verzeichnis sind 29 Weine erfasst, überwiegend aus Encruzado und Touriga Nacional. Der Betrieb beliefert Handel und Gastronomie.
