About the estate
The Wagner estate is a traditional family winery located in Essenheim in Rheinhessen, with a history dating back to 1692. The estate's vineyards are situated on the slopes of the Selz Valley, where the vines grow on calcareous soils composed of limestone, marl, and loess. These geological conditions provide optimal environments for grape varieties such as Pinot Blanc, Silvaner, Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, and Riesling. Since 2019, the winery has operated fully in accordance with certified organic viticulture guidelines. The family manages the vineyards collectively, combining traditional craftsmanship with modern winemaking techniques.
