The Weingut Schmitz estate, also known as Der Hof am Teuerborn, is run by Christiane, Berthold and Dominic Schmitz outside of Nackenheim in Rheinhessen. The winery has been producing wine since the late 1980s, starting out with one hectare of vineyards. Today, the family cultivates 13.5 hectares of vines in a region with a centuries-old winemaking tradition near the Red Slope. In their artisanal wine production, the estate relies on sensitivity, instinct and the courage to make the right decisions.
