About the estate
The family-run Weingut Schmitt estate is located in Spiesheim in the heart of Rheinhessen and looks back on a long wine-growing tradition dating back to the 19th century. In 1976, Hiltraud and Karl Schmitt bottled the first wine under their own label before subsequent generations took over and expanded the operations. Today, the estate is jointly managed by Hiltrud, Willi, Florian, and Gesine Schmitt. In the vineyards and the cellar, classical working methods are supported by modern ecological and technical procedures.
The eno directory lists 14 wines, mostly from Pinot Noir and Blauer Portugieser.
