About the estate

The Sander estate in Dexheim looks back on a tradition of winemaking in Rheinhessen dating back to 1720 and is managed today by the family in the ninth generation. The fertile loess, loam, clay, and calcareous marl soils, combined with the mild local climate, provide the ideal foundation for cultivating a diverse range of grape varieties such as Pinot varieties, Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, and Scheurebe. Sustainable vineyard management and careful handling of nature go hand in hand with modern cellar techniques and knowledge passed down through generations. Through extensive manual labor and great sensitivity, the winery crafts authentic and down-to-earth wines that reflect the characteristic terroir.
