About the estate

The traditional Weingut Pitthan is located in Zotzenheim in the German wine region of Rheinhessen and looks back on a long family history. Winemakers Werner and Christian Pitthan manage the vineyards together with their family, focusing on deep clay and lime-marl soils as well as light loess soils. The grape variety spectrum includes white varieties such as Riesling, Silvaner, Pinot varieties, and Sauvignon Blanc, alongside red varieties like Dornfelder, Pinot Noir, and Saint Laurent. Their approach is characterized by high internal quality standards, yield reduction, and meticulous care of the vines. The portfolio includes white, red, and rosé wines as well as distinct specialties developed on the estate.
