About the estate

The Martin Nickel estate is located in Neustadt an der Weinstraße at the foot of Hambach Castle. The history of the winegrower family can be traced back in documents to the year 1717. On a cultivated vineyard area of 17 hectares, half is planted with Riesling, while one third is dedicated to red wine varieties such as Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, Dornfelder, and Portugieser. The portfolio is complemented by Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, and Sauvignon Blanc. Winemaking focuses on gentle processing, and the wines are bottled only after sufficient storage and maturation in casks.
